Portfolio Snapshot

As of the end of October 2025, my portfolio contained 49 total positions, same as the prior month, although there was plenty of activity in the portfolio as you will see in the activity section below.

You can see all the portfolio activity down below, but first, here is a snapshot of my entire portfolio:

Portfolio Performance

In this section, I will highlight the performance of the portfolio both on a MONTHLY and Year-To-Date basis.

For comparison, here is how the benchmark S&P 500 did during those same time frames:

And here is how the equal weighted S&P 500 performed:

BACK to BACK very strong months for the portfolio, which continued to see strong performance from our largest stocks, such as GOOGL, AMZN, and AMD all having great months and being top 5 positions for me.

However, at the end of the month, our shares of AMD got called away in an options trade. Options has played a sizable roll in the outperformance, allowing me to generate more income to invest more into my long-term portfolio, which you see here.

November tends to be a decent month for the S&P 500, but what we have seen lately is the opposite effect. September usually very bad and October just an OK month, both months were solid for the S&P 500, what does that mean for November.

So far, the S&P 500 is pretty much flat during the month of November, but we have seen plenty of volatility, big swings up followed by big red days, but so far they have equaled each other out. We have had the longest government shutdown in history, which is now finally coming to an end…for now. Earnings season has been good, but the guidance is what has spooked investors about the direction ahead and the potential for stocks being overvalued. Everything is on a case by case basis, which is why individual stocks is what has been the route…of late.

I have plenty of concerns moving forward and my cash position is slowly building as we come to a close on the year and gear up for 2026. I believe we could touch a new all-time high in the S&P 500 before years end, but 2026 in my eyes is going to be bumpy. The economy is weakening, the labor force is weakening, inflation is still around, so there is plenty of headwinds we have to deal with and it could just be part of the cycle.

Do I think a dip will be sizable, no, but a dip nonetheless is likely coming.

Stay tuned within our discord where Edge+ members get TRADE ALERTS, being notified of any changes I make to my portfolio in real time.

Portfolio Update - Chris

Every month, Investor’s Edge+ members get updates to my individual brokerage portfolio, which includes:

  • Portfolio Snapshot

  • Portfolio Performance

  • Stock Purchases

  • Stock Sells

  • Watchlist

*Note - this update ONLY includes my brokerage portfolio. Retirement accounts, cryptocurrency, real estate and cash/cash equivalents outside of the brokerage are excluded from this update.

Portfolio Snapshot

As of the end of October 2025, my brokerage portfolio contained 60 total positions — 58 stock holdings and 2 options contract.

Here is a snapshot of my portfolio:

Portfolio Performance

In this section, I will highlight the performance of my portfolio in October as well as for the full year.

For comparison, here is how the benchmark S&P 500 did during those same time frames:

And here is how the equal weighted S&P 500 performed:

October, typically one of the strongest months for equities, delivered more modest gains this year amid renewed fiscal uncertainty and mixed macro data. Despite the ongoing government shutdown and slower data flow, markets extended their post-rate-cut rally as investors grew confident the Fed’s easing cycle will continue into early 2026. My portfolio advanced +2.33% for October, lifting 2025 gains to +19.40%. That slightly outperformed both the S&P 500 (+2.27%) and Equal Weight S&P 500 (-1.04%), marking another month of relative strength versus benchmarks.

Performance was led by large-cap ETF exposure in VOO and QQQ, which continued to benefit from concentrated momentum in mega-cap tech. Select single-stock positions like Alphabet, Amazon, Shopify, and Palo Alto Networks added meaningful alpha, while exposure to energy, gold, and small-caps provided partial diversification against October’s volatility. Rate-sensitive and defensive holdings such as REITs and consumer staples lagged as yields briefly rebounded mid-month.

Positioning remained steady with ~10% in cash and index hedges in QQQ and SPY puts still open. The portfolio’s barbell between high quality growth and stable dividends again proved resilient, balancing upside participation with downside protection during headline-driven swings.

Overall, the strategy continues to outperform both major benchmarks for the year, reflecting consistent execution through macro noise and disciplined weighting across growth, income, and defensive assets.

Monthly Activity

In this section, I will go through the transactions that were made within the portfolio during the month.

October was a month of patience. Rather than force trades and chase returns into a market running on fumes, I kept things steady and let the portfolio do its thing. That patience paid off as…upgrade to Edge+ to see Chris’s entire portfolio and the moves made during the month.

Closing Remarks

October was another ROCK SOLID month and its another month where both our portfolios are sitting at fresh new highs and outpacing the greater S&P 500, but could trouble be lurking?

As money managers, it is important for us to manage risk properly and ensure our portfolios are properly balanced for what we expect the near term future to bring, while not getting offtrack from our longer term goals.

November is typically and good month for stocks, but volatility has crept back into the markets as we have seen some profit taking take place. In my (Mark) portfolio, I have raised cash while also ringing the register on some high fliers and dipped my toes into some more defensive sectors, like healthcare of late. I expect this to continue in the month(s) ahead.
