Portfolio Update - November 2024
Uncertainty surrounding the election in November
Good evening investors!

Let’s dive in.

Portfolio Snapshot
As of the end of October 2024, my portfolio contained 51 total positions, in line with the prior month.
You can see all the portfolio activity down below, but first, here is a snapshot of my entire portfolio:
Portfolio Performance
In this section, I will highlight the performance of the portfolio both on a MONTHLY and Year-To-Date basis.
For comparison, here is how the benchmark S&P 500 did during those same time frames:
And here is how the equal weighted S&P 500 performed:
The portfolio saw its five month winning streak come to an end unfortunately, but barely. The portfolio lost 0.3% during the month of October, which outperformed the S&P 500, which lost 1% during the month, so that was a positive. On the year, we continue to outperform the S&P 500 on pace for my 8th consecutive year of outperformance, but still a long ways to go before we claim victory.
The market continues to broaden, which is a positive and we now have clarity on who the next president will be a long with the House and Senate, which is beneficial to investors to have less uncertainty. However, various sectors are likely to benefit, and we have seen a big run post election thus far, which are showing up in the November results thus far.
There are plenty of reasons to be bullish going into the final two months of the year as we typically rally into the close of the year. On top of that, the 6 month period between the start of November and end of April is typically the best 6-month period for stocks.
On the bearish side of things, valuation continues to look stretched, so it continues to be a stock pickers market, where finding cheaper, yet still high quality stocks is how we remain successful.
November will see some repositioning into various sectors, which those of you Edge+ members that are in our discord, you get TRADE ALERTS for in real time. If you are not yet connected to the discord, make sure you take advantage of that as it is a major perk for Edge+ members.

Portfolio Snapshot
As of the end of October 2024, my brokerage portfolio contained 58 total positions — 56 stock holdings and 2 options contract.
Here is a snapshot of my portfolio:
Portfolio Performance
In this section, I will highlight the performance of my portfolio in October as well as for the full year.
For comparison, here is how the benchmark S&P 500 did during those same time frames:
And here is how the equal weighted S&P 500 performed:
In October, my portfolio saw a slight decline, mirroring the broader market's pullback. However, it's important to highlight that it still managed to outperform the S&P 500 benchmark, reinforcing the strength of its diversified construction.
While the S&P struggled under sector-specific pressures, my portfolio’s overall exposure to various industries helped mitigate potential losses, proving the importance of diversification as a buffer during periods of volatility.
Additionally, my large cash position allows for flexibility, enabling swift action when high-quality assets become attractively priced. This liquidity is a powerful tool, especially as we approach year-end with looming questions around inflation, interest rates, and potential political impacts on the market.
Patience remains key in this environment. Valuations are still evolving, and with economic uncertainties persisting, restraint can be a strategic asset. Rather than reacting to every market fluctuation, my focus is on steady, disciplined growth over time.
Holding cash, strategically hedging, and waiting for opportune moments allows this portfolio to stay on course, ready to capitalize on the market's eventual recovery.
Monthly Activity

Closing Remarks
Now that we have a lot more clarity based on earnings, the election, and the Fed, this clears the way for investors to close the rest of the year. Shares have jumped in a big way since the election, which further stretches valuations giving us some concern, but as always, we prefer time IN the market rather than trying to TIME the market.
As always, continue to perform your due diligence ahead of time so you are ready when opportunities present themselves.
We will continue to look for new ideas in the market and bring you as much information as we can to give you an EDGE in the markets.
