Recap December Quick Pick Results

Before we move on to our January picks, let’s see how we did in December. To be honest, it wasn’t our best performance. Just 2 of the names beat the S&P 500 in the month while 3 of the 5 stocks we chose actually closed in the red. We were off just slightly since CVX and MELI are up 3.5% and 8%, respectively, year to date in 2026.

Here’s a look at the one month total returns:

The funny part, well not so funny for our money, was as we just mentioned, both Chevron and MercadoLibre saw a HUGE pop to start January following the Venezuela news. We were just a bit early on both those names but what can you do. It was still a great year overall for our picks.

For the full year 2025, our quick picks were +62.2% compared to the SPX returns of +17.8%. Overall, 45 of our 60 picks were winners last year, a win rate of 75%, meaning roughly 4 of the 5 picks each month tend to beat the S&P.
